MycoWave Mushroom Supplement

Role: Brand + Creative Director - Managed brand activation at local San Diego events (ie. farmers markets, gym pop-ups), organic social content, email content, campaign creative (design + copy) and timelines, photoshoots, and website maintenance on Shopify.

Duration: ~10 months

**Please note: This was a passion project. A friend of mine started a mushroom supplement business and I partnered with him to evolve the brand through organic marketing. (Sadly, business is no longer existing.)

  • MycoWave was started by my two friends, who are passionate mushroom lovers. One was a microbiologist and another who was a restaurant business owner. This was their passion project – to create a functional mushroom product that can easily be added to any lifestyle.

    They worked with a local mushroom farmer to create two supplements, Sunny and Luna. One for daytime use and one for nighttime use.

  • There were two key things that was important to them

    1. Product Awareness

    2. Return on Investment

    They essentially started an e-comm store through shopify to sell the product with no plan in place. The brand was tied together through a physical product, a logo, and organic instagram posts.

    However, they did have a decent following 2k+ and email subscriber list. Given my capacity, I wanted to tackle the following three things to trial and error for the first 3 months

    1. Sale Campaigns

    2. Social Giveaways

    3. Local pop-ups & events

  • They worked with a graphic designer to create the the logo and a V1 of the brand but was unsure on how to exactly market to people. They knew that they wanted to sell online and that they needed help with marketing and overall brand direction.

    They’ve already launched the product for about 1 year with little to no revenue per month and lack of activation. That’s when they pitched me the brand and we got to work.

    Non-negotiables:

    • Logo: We couldn’t change this since it was part of the product already
